The Great Migration Mystery

Every fall, millions of monarch butterflies begin an impossible journey. Using the sun, magnetic fields, and inherited genetic programming, they navigate thousands of miles to forests they’ve never seen, following routes their great-great-grandparents took. But this epic migration - one of nature’s greatest mysteries - is failing. Habitat loss has eliminated the milkweed plants monarch caterpillars need to survive, breaking links in a chain millions of years old. This pin represents wonder under threat: the magic of migration depends on our willingness to plant the simple flowers that fuel one of nature’s most extraordinary journeys.
